Julie Drizin is the new Director of the center, as of November 2011. Drizin is an award-winning producer and editor of local, national and international public radio programs. As Director, she will develop new programming and raise the visibility of the center in the worlds of journalism and child advocacy. She will also teach undergraduate courses that focus on news coverage of children and families. She was previously a judge in the Casey Medals and a Fellow at the center’s journalism intensive on covering diverse communities. Mina Dixon is the center’s program coordinator. She provides editorial support and vets stories, reports and resources for the website. Dixon graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and English. She began as a JCCF intern and has served as the co-editor-in-chief of The PublicAsian, a monthly newspaper that focuses on Asian-interest news. 301.405.8808; mdixon-AT-journalismcenter-DOT-org
Erica Mink is the center’s student assistant. She is a senior broadcast journalism major at the University of Maryland. Mink has interned at news stations Fox 5 and WUSA 9.
