CLASP, which advances the cause of economic justice for low-income families, individuals and communities, has compiled resources on the Early Learning Challenge Fund, including links to a legislative summary, full legislative text and an audio conference.

The Early Learning Challenge Fund, which was included in the Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2009 (SAFRA, or HR 3221), was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009. It aims to achieve comprehensive, high-quality early education systems for children from birth to age 5 through competitive state grants totaling $8 billion over eight years.
