Most children will engage in sexual behaviors at some time during childhood. These behaviors may be normal but can be confusing and concerning to parents or disruptive or intrusive to others.
The report, issued by the Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect and published in the journal Pediatrics, reviews how to differentiate between normal and problem sexual behaviors, factors that influence the frequency and types of sexual behaviors manifested by children, clinical assessment and treatment, and parental guidance.
